Listed in 1 person's Favorites.Zandro has three superb gaits; excellent conformation; and very athletic. Confirmed in 2nd level lateral work, developing half passes. Due to his huge canter, his canter is slightly behind the development of his trot. His canter is confirmed with walk-canter transitions; counter-canter in the first-level test; spiral in to 10-meter circle; and spiral out, shoulder-in/haunches in on the circle and straight lines. Although safe he is looky, so would be best suited for a tactful, skilled rider. He has been introduced to the double bridle and schools quietly in both the double and snaffle.
Chararcteristic to his breed, Zandro is a proud and impressive mover. He is an unbelievable horse with talented gaits and would be hard to replace. With this said, my ideal home would be someone who knows the breed, with intentions to compete at the FEI level.
Easy to handle with a gentle handler, stands well for the farrier, vet and loads well.
Zandro was foaled at Windholme Farm, Orange VA. Well-noted and respected for their impressive breeding program, the breeder’s goal is to create top-caliber sport horses. We currently have three of their offspring, one who is a half brother to Zandro and is also for sale.
Held nationwide, Zandro earned a First Place premium that “exceeds breed standard and is an indicator of highest quality" at the KWPN kuering held in Virginia in 2004. He is USDF Lifetime registered.
He is sired by Horal, a black Dutch Harness Horse stallion who was imported from Holland in July 2002 and almost immediately named Open Fine Harness Champion at the Renai World Championships held in Kentucky in September 2002. Additionally, following a licensing exam in 2003 for before KWPN judges from The Netherlands, Horal was approved for breeding as a licensed Dutch Harness Horse stallion. As a result, Horal’s offspring now are eligible for inclusion at the highest level within the NA/WPN, the North American Registry for Dutch Harness Horses and in the KWPN, the equivalent registry for Dutch Harness Horses in The Netherlands. Impressively Horal is only 1 of 15 approved Harness Stallions for the NA/KWPN registry.
X-rays are available on front feet.
