Rasen (pronounced Rah-zen, which means “speed” in German, though ironically also means “grass patio,” which seems to be a much more appropriate definition given his proclivity towards lazing in the sun and eating as much grass as he can) is a beautifully conformed pony-type horse with a big body, pretty dishy head, and beautiful neck. Very well-bred, Rasen was sired by Roller Coaster (a winning Grand Prix horse under Todd Minikus) and out of one of the first Cassini II mares imported to the US.

Rasen has a good jump and huge step. More of a push ride, he is the type that “anybody can ride” and carried a kid around the hunter ring (3′ and 3’3″) on the East Coast with top ribbons during the 2016 show season. He has also been trail ridden extensively as well as fox hunted on the East Coast.

Rasen showed in the 2017 Coachella horseshow in Thermal, CA in the hunter rings with me (his amateur owner), the hunter and jumper rings with a 19-year old amateur, and also carefully carried around my 9 year old daughter. Unfortunately, Rasen came out of the 2017 Coachella show with a bruised coffin bone from the hard footing, and spent the remainder of the 2017 season recovering from the injury. He returned to under saddle work in November of 2017 and began jumping again in March 2018 (so late in part due to my extended absence for the 2018 Coachella show).

This horse is an absolute joy to ride and puts a smile on the face of his rider every time he’s taken out of the stall. He’s a phenomenal medal/equitation/jumper horse with the smooth jump and the style to take someone back East. He’s a good 3-ring type, meaning that he can hold his own in the hunters (though not a hunter specialist and not the hack winner), would be absolutely fantastic in the medal/eq ring (and jumps open water along with any other jump type you put in front of him), and could also be a mount to take a kid up through the High Junior/AO Jumper classes.

Mid-5 figures until he is fully back and coursing at 1.20m (as he was prior to his time off).

Lindsey is an amateur rider located in Kingston, WA. She shows on the West Coast with her TB who competes in the High AO Jumpers and Grand Prix/FEI classes and her 8yo Holsteiner mare who has just made the move into the 1.40m. Her young daughter shows in the little hunters and jumpers on Lindsey's former 1.40m horse and has a lovely medium pony who will soon join the show crew. Lindsey has close relationships with several phenomenal East Coast and German breeders who understand their horses extraordinarily well. The horses she imports are sane, sound, and, most importantly, easy for an amateur rider to handle. Absolute priority number one, before a horse is even considered for purchase, is the temperament and brain. She strives to describe every horse accurately and in great detail to ensure that there are no surprises for potential buyers, and takes great pains to matchmake horses and riders well. You can trust that what you see is what you'll get with fully transparent and open vet records, clean x-rays (unless otherwise noted up front), and industry references (including past buyers, sellers, and trainers).
